okay. my brother and i woke up at 1.05pm.
i sprang outta bed larhh! 1.05pm! crazy.
but if i'm not wrong, i had a great dream.

1st celebration: brother's chinese birthday and advance father's day(:
cake cutting! (: and we drank wine earlier in the "morning".

then off to sunny's commissioning parade.

it's TOY STORY 3D with my darling joyce!
island wide released today and we went to catch it.
but i had to make a trip down to 313 to grab the tickets first.
and IT'S COUPLE SEAT!
i wonder how many couples have we broken up that night.
and the reactions of the couples around us were quite funny.
i think they thought we were les. laughs!

my first time going prawning!
it's an interesting thing to do.
we just paying for the equipment and maintenance of the tank because i believe we can eat 10x more than what we caught if we used that money to pay for the prawns at ntuc. keke.
thankfully the weather was kind. (:

finally a break from 6 consecutive days of work.
i needed some drugs after the last 3 nasty customers.

met cuzzie today during her lunch break at astons.
she had to rush her report by 2pm, so we had to eat really fast.
but the wait for the food was half an hour!

finally the food arrived at 1245.
and we gobbled them up in 10mins!

went shopping for a while before meeting amanda, daniel and xueting for kbox at marina.

i had to protect her from pulling my skirt in whichever directions. lol.
and then for some songs, i don't know why.. we will just burst out laughing. hahhh.

one month ago!

that's me, ee wei, my cousin, and liang ying on the train to changi airport! *excited*

look at our baggage!
wei sheng was at redhill doing his ns health screening. so met him on the way to head back to the east.
it's the SKYTRAIN! it has been long since i last took the skytrain!

at that time, the 8 of us were scattered everywhere, shopping, camwhoring etc.
then we started calling each other and RAN FOR THE GATE.
the gate was damn far away and we literally ran!
in the end, we were quite ahead of time.
they just put last call so that people can go to the gate earlier to avoid a human traffic.

but it was epic.
those people who saw us running must be thinking we're hilarious. lol.

we managed to locate our hotel with the help of a friendly passerby.
luckily we're in taiwan and not korea or japan. we would have trouble communicating with them!

our first shopping location: hotel vicinity. weeeeeeeee. food again! keke.

our first night at the hotel.
look at these two siao zhar bo! i was only wearing my dri-fit pe shirt and fbt.
both of them were wearing: a shirt, a jacket, covered by a white blanket, and brown quilt and the flowery super thick quilt. it's cold after the shower larhh. but so exaggerating! lol.

2nd DAY!

we left the hotel at 8am lehh! see how early we were. so we were roaming around the vicinity of wufenpu.
the watermelons there are really huge. some of those that i saw were more than twice the size of singapore's. just that theirs are elongated.

we three ladies really bought a lot of things that the guys had to help us with our shopping bags for the rest of the day. lol.
btw, this meal was damn cheap. IF i'm not wrong, it was only about 20 dollars for 8 of us. keke.

their shops look alike. the feeling is just like bugis. just that the weather is much better to shop.

then left for dinner at raohe st. night market.

and yes. i lost the pair of earrings that my dad gave to me.

also luckily, i have another of the one i have lost at home because i lost the other side last time.
so one from each pair still makes a pair. (:

it was terribly cold after we got wet that we had to change out immediately before catching a cold.
and all of us were dead tired on the taxi trip back to the metro station. i slept like a log~

went back to the hotel to tidy ourselves up before heading to the modern toilet restaurant!

4th DAY!

i'm ee wei's princess today! (:

our very first bus ride! it's what we see in those taiwan drama.
national palace museum.
one of their trademarks.
some event that they were holding.
outside the museum.
no photography allowed in the museum. so i couldn't take anything from inside.
but it was interesting to see some of the artifacts in there.

the train that we took to xinbeitou for hot spring.
this train is one of a kind.
very nicely decorated on the outside.

each carriage has a theme.
and i was (: to see this. hee.

green. 8 seats just nice for 8 of us.

there were many many different hot springs club houses and bath houses.
the water is really hot that you can see the steam.

but something epic happened!
we went to the bathhouse that we intended to go.
after paying for the hot spring (gents and ladies seperate), i was the first one to enter.
i was omg stunned. and went out after one second.
errrrr. everyone was naked. head to toe.
i went out to get my cousin to have a look for herself.
she was stunned too.
i asked the receptionist if we could use a towel? or at least something to cover the bottom. i don't mind exposing top.
he said can't. must be naked.
omgggggggggg.
i don't know about the guys, but because the girls felt uncomfortable, we kindly asked for our refund and tried another hot spring.

this one! it's at one of the hotels. i think it's called sincerity hotel.
it's a public bath! but since there wasn't anyone, the public bath became our private bath! lol.
and this was a couple's bath. but we started squeezing 4 people.
then 5 then SIX!!! damn funny larhh! the water was overflowing from the tub! i was laughing so hard that my stomach was aching. lol. btw, the water was ice cold, not hot.
the water here is hot. very hot. i think only kelvin and gup feng managed to survive staying in the water for 10mins at one shot. my face was red after my first 5 mins.

5th DAY!

i wanted to be funny.
when we arrived at the city hall station, i wanted to ask some passerbys how to get to taipei 101. (i mean, this tower is so tall and hard to miss. that's the stupid thing.)
and i wanted to ask, "errr. excuse me. do you know of a very tall tower? i don't know what's its name. but i think king kong climbed it before (yarh right. king kong climbed the empire state building.)." LOL.
the tower was so tall that i had to lie on the floor to take the photo.
our second trip back to wufenpu to use up our taiwan currency. keke.
and back to the hotel to grab our luggage. we didn't want history of the first day to happen. so we wanted to get to the airport earlier.
our belongings as we went to get the HSR tickets to the airport.
this table label belongs to the HSR. because our hand carry luggage cannot exceed 1okg each. so we actually wanted to check if our luggage exceed 10kg by weighing it on the table top. if the table top breaks, that means it exceeds 10kg. haha! what a way!

my dinner. (:
i thought we went there earlier, but we still had to rush our dinner.
i've learnt from my lesson when i took the flight to taiwan.
i need to fill my stomach before my stomach rumbles on the plane.
but i didn't dare to eat too much because i have a weak stomach.
i was afraid that i would get nausea on the plane.
thank goodness i was okay. (:
and yes, we ran to the boarding gate AGAIN.

we saw li jia wei and jin jun hong. we took the same flight back to singapore.
ehhh, this was candid. lol.
trying to act like models. lol.

we were supposed to depart tao yuan at 7.10pm. that means by 6.50pm we should have boarded the plane so that it can take off around 7.10pm. i have a habit of taking a shot of my airplane that i'm taking. but i couldn't find my airplane at all. guess what. the plane arrived at the gate at 7.06pm! (smses back to singapore: flight delayed!)

we finally get to board the plane and was unintentionally escorted by a bodyguard.
same seating arrangement.
the captain accounted to us for the poor weather along the straits of peninsula malaysia that caused the delay. and now, because of what reason that i didn't manage to catch, only one run way was open for take off and landing. so our plane had to queue and managed to take off at 8.26pm.
the view of singapore from south-eastern direction. i could see the flyer from the plane! (: *excited*
and we finally landed!! (:
supposed to reach around 11.45pm. but it was about 12.45am.
but this was what happened!
damn epic.
i was really laughing about what was going on!
the captain announced that the aircraft is experiencing some technical problems with the ground zero unit that it can't generate electricity to open the doors.
okay, budget airline, i forgive.
the captain actually announced that the aircraft was experiencing technical problems before departing for singapore and that caused the delay at tao yuan.
i was like, OMG! and you still dare to take off! :SSS i was 0-o
they had to switch off the air con and dim the lights for the airplane to recharge its "batteries" more efficiently.
so we were in that condition for about 10-15mins.

and yes, we finally touched ground! welcome back to singapore!
but i was missing taiwan at the point of time.
gahhhh! i was 3 seconds slower! if not, i could have snapped 101. memoirs of taipei. keke.
this was the time when we touched ground.
and i saw my secondary/uni senior, leanne! we were on the same flight too! nice to see her there! she said that she saw wu zhong xian! lol. she said he's short. :P
and that's my shoe bag! i actually checked-in my shoe bag.
guo feng said he heard people saying, "omg. someone checked in a shoe bag. that's so pathetic!"
but you know what, this shoe bag, contained ALL the clothes including my towel that i brought from singapore to taiwan. an 18" luggage to a shoe bag. see my ability of squeezing my stuffs? :P
btw, i was allowed 20kgs of check-in and i checked-in 18.6kg worth of stuffs. thanks to the rock sugar tea that i bought from fisherman's wharf. damn heavy!

woke up early in the morning to attend this talk at nacli.
it's organized by aots (association of technical scholarship).
my dad's the secretary for this association. so my brother and i had this chance to attend this talk.
it's the last year that prof. fujita is giving his talk.
his third and last one in singapore for the time being.

Dramas Down With Love

my first mobile drama because i watched the entire drama on my itouch.
i've been watching this drama since before exam larhh!
held on to the final few episodes so that i can watch the drama on my trip to taiwan.
and yes, i finished watching it there. (:
this drama is quite funny at some parts that i will start laughing to myself when i watch them.
i laughed once on the mrt and twice on the bus that people started looking at me! PAISEH!
ella larhh! farted in the drama! hilarious larhh!
jerry yan makes a nice boyfriend. but he gives an immature feeling that i don't feel safe leaning on. haha. maybe his actions in the drama is too childish.
oh yes, the two kids in the show is damn cute, especially xiao xiao bin! keke.

i was watching this korean drama concurrently with down with love just because i wanted to watch the finale of the latter on the airplane.
this is like an idol drama.
storyline wise quite predictable. i could guess the storyline from the first episode. how nice.
at least for down with love, i was still guessing which guy yang duo would choose.
i just wonder why people can't notice that go mi nam is a girl.
it's too damn obvious.
the three guys have their strengths as a partner.
jeremy is probably a balance between hwang tae kyung and kang shin woo i feel.
but jeremy seems to care more for himself in this show.
or maybe they put too much focus on the other two.

and yes, i feel that reporter kang is irritating. so he succeeded.

Shrek 4 (Forever After)

i watched shrek 1, 2 and 3 in the theatre last time. but i can't remember the story line for all of them. gahh. memory failing.
when to catch this movie with wei sheng two days ago after my work.
not-too-bad movie.
i was having a picnic inside (my dinner).
sushi, drinks, yam yam biscuit, some kids snacks.
i look like some ogre having my meal inside the theatre because all the plastic sound was noisy!
and it ended up the shrek and fiona's daughter was named felicia. THANKs.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

went to catch this movie with baoren and jason yesterday after dinner at yuki yaki.
too bad that cheltton and yirong couldn't join us for the movie.
this movie is great. the actions are nice!
i love it entirely. better than shrek 4 i think.

BUT, i was damn stunned and was like (eff)! the movie structure is entirely same as shrek 4!
how nice.
if primary, secondary school and JC kids are going to take the idea of the movie structure for their essays, they are gonna fail horribly because under the MOE syllabus, rules and regulations (whatever) you fail if you write your essay as a (day)dream. (:

but it turned out as lightning warning during the games try-out.

zi cheng was supposed to come but that mahjong addict was stuck at the table to win back some bucks that he lost.

i was about to die at the 20+ storey. lol.
i used both hands on the railing from the start to the end!
and i felt my subway coming out!
it was spiralling and quite stuffy!

matthew puked at the 50+ storey that eugene had to run down to help him.
i can't save myself, so i can't save him. keke.
but we all still managed to conquer the building.
i took about 20-25mins. i didn't time myself, but should be around that timing.

i just finished watching the last episode of this drama because i missed it while i was
away in taiwan for the past few days.
first and foremost, the streaming on xinmsn nearly drove me crazy.
nevertheless, i still managed to finish the drama.
i thought the most meaningful part of this whole drama is the songs.
they are really nice and meaningful, but i feel the irony between the opening
and ending songs.

since the singer is a female, i'm taking the point of view from a lady.
the opening song expresses on how her partner is always there to support her in
everything she does. the tone sounds very thankful.
on the contrary, the ending song talks about a lady being afraid of expressing her love
and rather love that guy silently.

i landed in singapore around 12.45am last night.
was supposed to land at 11.50pm, but the flight was delayed.
upon landing, the ground unit experienced technical problems in generating electricity for the plane to open the door to let the passengers alight. muahahahahhhh.
my dad and brother ended up waiting outside. so sorry.

something bad happened today.
typing this at this time, it was still mother's day an hour ago, and about 36hrs to my flight to taiwan.
but something upsetting happened.
i broke my mum's heart.

jonathan asked me if i am excited about my coming trip?
i told him that i wasn't because the preparations for it are driving me crazy.
shortly after, i had to call xueting to confirm with her about lunch later on. and i was getting her advice as to whether i should get my favourite pair of shoes mend for the taiwan trip.
we continued on to the preparations that i'm having for my holiday.
i was telling her about the hotel plans and mentioned about me being nagged at by my mum regarding this trip.
i was facing out of the window.
my mum overheard everything.

it's the first time that i'll be travelling with my friends, without parents, without teachers.
i was initially very excited for it.
but with all the plannings, arguments, disputes especially between my parents, regarding my trip is disturbing me.

most importantly, i thank both my parents, wholeheartedly for loving me.
for this trip, i thank my dad for giving me the chance to grow up and learn how to take charge of my own life by giving his silent love and support like he always do.
for this trip, i thank my mum for showing me her love and concerns proactively like she always do to ensure i go on this trip safely and happily.
but somehow, this love is clashing.

looking at it sociologically, it is a mother's nature that she wants to protect her child. my mum said so. she don't want anything to go wrong for this trip so that it would be smooth sailing for me.
but my words just hurt her, because i said, "her naggings are driving me crazy".

what happened?
she showed me her love which i didn't appreciate.

she nagged at me regarding my toiletries, putting the lotions into smaller containers.
she nagged at me regarding my passport, making sure that i put it safely into my bag.
my nagged at me regarding my money, making sure that i have two wallets so that my cash is safe.
she nagged at me regarding my spending, making sure that i've spare emergency cash.
she nagged at me regarding my shoes, telling me not to be stubborn to wear a spoilt pair of shoes.
she nagged at me regarding the time that i need to pack my luggage when i'm only going for 5 days.
these are love and reminders from her, which i appreciate and have carried out well.

but sometimes, there are things that i'm in no say to try to make it her way - the hotel accommodation.

what happened?
we have 8 people, 5 guys, 3 girls, squeezing into 2 rooms with a queen-sized bed each.
so we have 4 legal guests and 4 illegal guests.
i've requested according to my parents' arrangement (and i agree with it) to ask for an extra bed so that i can rest comfortably and deposit my passport with the hotel.
this makes 5 legal guests and 3 illegal guests.
my mum overheard the new hotel arrangement that the 2 guys will be taking the extra bed that i've asked for, while i'll be sharing with the two girls on the queen sized bed.
she got furious. because that bed was meant for me, not two illegal guests.

the arrangement was suggested by my cousin, and i'm okay with it because like this, everyone would have at least a bed to sleep on.
although things are not pretty fair, but if we really want to divide the money up, things will get ugly.
sometimes i did wonder if it's my mistake to join this taiwan trip.
but i told myself, i paid for the air ticket, and my name for the accommodation. i've done nothing wrong. things are only arranged to make everyone comfortable and i don't mind.
my mum's main concern is that we have 3 hotel crashers and what happens if the hotel management catches us?
i told her that we will react to the situation when it's time to come.
she gave a lot of "what if"s and i was angry because she deemed that we can't cope with the consequences.
i assured her that i've already done things legally on my side. i can't force others to buy another room when they didn't want to. it's not my will to ensure things goes the way she has suggested.
i've to admit that i'm feeling unjustified that i'm being scolded for the arrangement when i've done things rightfully.

look at it.
i booked my own air ticket and travel insurance, with the guidance from my dad.
did anything go wrong with these two aspects? no. and i learnt from it.
this is what i want.

the hotel arrangement is not my will to get it changed. i've already done what i can. eileen has done her best to compromise to the situation and get things organized.
my mum asked, "why didn't we asked the adults who are more experienced at this to help you guys?"
well, i did for my air ticket and insurance. but i didn't do the hotel booking. i've asked eileen, and she said we're old enough to learn to get things done by ourselves. there are bound to be things that we overlook because it's our first time. she is aware of the risks that we are taking for the hotel arrangements, but teenagers are looking at things from a different point of view.
all these while, i've been the middle man between the hotel arrangement plans between my mum and my cousin. both have their valid reasons, but of different factors.
i'm a subset of both.

well, it's another 36hrs before i'm leaving. things are booked.
but even if the trip is in another month's time, and if my friends prefer to take the risks with the former arrangement, i do not think it is nice of my parents to come in and try to "force" them to book another room so that all of us are legal guests.
i know my parents are right, and our current arrangement is illegal. i know.
i can highlight my parents' concern about the accommodation, but i can't "force" them to purchase another room for 4 nights.
what eileen said was correct. i'm someone who is joining the group of 7, not the group of 7 joining me.

i know my mum cares a lot for me because she loves me.
but some things are meant to be learned from real life experiences.
i can't deny that she has given me stress for this 5-day trip just to prove to her that i can't survive this trip with everything going right.
she told me that she hopes that the trip is smooth sailing.
but i guess she is hoping for something to cock up so that she can also say, "see, i told you."
psychologically, who doesn't want to be right?
it's human nature too.

i'm growing up into an adult.
there are some things that i need to learn, but with parental guidance.
i've learnt how to book my air ticket and insurance.
i can't do anything for the hotel bookings.
i'll learn them next time.
if anything goes wrong for this trip, we all learn, and we are willing to learn.
that's part and parcel of life.
there are already two things that i've learnt from the preparations.
i feel for the experience that my dad had when he organized the korea trip 10 years ago. i guess it was really tough for my dad then.
debating over money hurts everything, literally. it all boils down to money.

i've to compliment eileen (and eric for helping her) to organize this trip well thus far.
i sincerely apologise to eileen for the troubles that i've given her regarding the hotel accommodation. she has been very understanding towards me.
i love you and our 20 years relationship.

as for mum and dad, i thank both of you for allowing me to go on this short trip to learn how to take care of myself abroad.
although i've done things and certain arrangements that have upset both of you, i didn't mean to and i'm sorry. i'm definitely bringing your love along with me and taking care of myself when i'm not at home. don't worry too much about me.
trust me. that's all i need.

it was early, so xiang lin and i went back to hai sing first!
and it was the perfect choice!
we saw the sisters who were back for visiting too!
sister victorine could recognise me! she prayed for me when i was having troubles with the adjustments that i had in secondary two.

lol. to think that i was staring at his shirt. haha.

went to kbox with both of them after that.
didn't bring cam along, so no photos.
my voice was already a little cranky but i still went ahead to sing.
and i had a little sexy voice the next day. keke.

dinner at food court. went back to chalet to slack and play card games and xbox before watching back up plan. wanted to watch ip man 2. but jun kai just watched that 3hrs ago and all the scenes were still clearly etched in his mind. rawrr. i so need to catch that movie after i come back from taiwan!

this show is quite okay. typical chic-flick.

but i was having problem trying to sit still during the movie. i think it was because it was urgent nature call for a just finished one bottle of 1litre water during the movie. i hope i don't get this irritating problem when i'm on the plane. crappp.

it's a torture to sit in between jun kai and henry. this couple kept ka-chiao-ing each other that i was squeezed between them at times. peace urh peace! haha!

okay. had to come home to get ample rest for i was sick before the chalet. but i'm more or less better now. keke.

headed down to grandma's place to pick her up to go for jap buffet at suki sushi at orchard cineleisure. it's the first time grandma's only 3 granddaughters are bringing her out. teehee.

grandma couldn't walk far and long, so we went back to her place.
it has been really long since i last stayed over at grandma's place. keke.
she said that she wanted to watch the 9pm drama. i accompanied her because i follow that drama. it was only 9.30pm, and she was snoring away lurhh. keke.
lights off at 10pm. how early right! "miracle". i appreciate the entertainment from my itouch. thankfully i had spammed my itouch with drama episodes the night before. keke.
so i was watching "you're beautiful" under the blanket because i didn't want my grandma to know that i'm not asleep. and i was nearly died from suffocation. my grandma sleeps in a room at 27 degrees Celsius! hotttttttttttttttttttt! i couldn't take it urh. went to reduce the temperature to 26 to make a compromise between 25 and 27. haha.

woke up at 11am and forced samuel who was sleeping in the other room to wake up. and the magic word was 汉堡包 (hamburger).
i went in and said, ehhh, wake up lurhh! (he continued lazing).
i said, ah ma is going to treat hamburger! (his eyes sparkled with the hamburger icon on his eyeballs larhh!) kuku.

a day out with my mummy and daddy today! :D
my brother went out with his friends instead.

went to the PSA building to get some maps for my taiwan trip.
paid the per entry fee and there didn't have the map at the embassy!! rawrrr.
had to go down to the UIC building at shenton way to get them!
then to suntec to meet a marriott staff regarding some membership.
because that was the corporate office, so there wasn't anybody who could explain to my parents about the reward points.
had to go down to beach road and get them done.

heh, i did most of the driving today. but can't help to praise myself. i thought i drove quite well today. muahahahahahahhh. oh, but there was a crazy driver who nearly killed me! two right turn lanes. i was on the outer. that kuku driver barged into my lane to turn right~ ehhhhhh. does it make any difference!! i so should have horned at that driver. make full use of the hornnnn!

finally, parked the car at marina square and walked towards marina bay sands.

the very first thing that i did after i finished my last paper on friday was to enjoy the OTO massage chair and big foot at the alumni house! muahahaaahahhhh. totally enjoyed the privilege! keke. nus is known for one of the richest alumni! make full use of the facilities! lol!

headed out to labrador park for some games with my darling, jacinda, and her church friends on saturday.
frisbee, volleyball and captain's ball. but i only played the first two.
omggggggggggggggggggg. she couldn't recognise me at the interchange! darling, have a change that much? became too fat lurhh urhh! haha. she said that my hair has grown way too long that she can't recognise me. lol.

dental this morning- the dentist was plying my molar teeth apart to check for root decay by using a piece of wood. that was the most painful part of all. the dentist suspected some root decay there and wanted a dental x-ray done. omg. to bite that piece of x-ray slip in my mouth is painful too. it was like biting a big piece of sharp jagged plastic with your mouth closed. rawrrr. but luckily everything went fine, but needs monitoring.
the 4k chore. i want to do my essay, but my brain is fried.
i always end up hungry in the middle of the night. how i wish those gastric juice can be converted into brain juice! sighs.

i know i'm running out of time but i still wanna blog because i need to vent something before i explode. everything doesn't seem to go right this week. all wrong, everything wrong.

words are not churning especially when i'm pressing myself with the clock in my head.
i woke up this damn morning i felt suffocated. it was similar to the feeling that i had when i was preparing for my A levels.
it's the same because i've set my standards. but everything just doesn't work suddenly.

why is it always geography that's turning my life upside down.

ytd's dinner was good food mannn! red eggs, shark's fin, threadfin fish maw, scallops, abalone, etc. but too much good food isn't that good for me i guess. because i ended up having a bad stomach today till now. but i think it's because of the big diet lately. *sinful*

we finally get to explore the newly renovated hotel.

day 14 - my second paternal aunt's place. i had to bring my readings down due to heavy workload. but it was kinda noisy with the little kids, dogs and the baby crying. this is not a complain at all. i find it rather heartwarming in fact. it really felt like a reunion, just that i'm a little anti-climax for bringing my notes to read. keke.

day 15 - grandma's place for yuan xiao. also brought tutorials down to do. lols.

that's all for CNY! i really hope that the year of the TIGER will be a better year for all! :D

i just have a damn feeling that i'm so not going to have enough sleep for the next few days.

nicholas drove to his place first to get his car, then both of us went to lakeside to fetch his gf to come over to my place for mahjong.
i was supposed to drive back all by myself from bukit batok. but i wanted to drive moreeeee.
lol, so i trailed him to lakeside. keke.
so not really alone right. :P
but at the very least, i survived all the way till i park the car! :D

Projects!

my tourism project mates just left my place. we started work at 10.30am, all the way till around 2.30pm with a half an hour break in between for lunch. in the end, we were so tempted to play mahjong and cast our project aside. how nice of us! keke.

went to bukit merah view with xueting ytd to work on our gek project.
heh, i then realised that the neighbourhood that i'm working on is actually the place where i used to see the doctor when i was young. my mum used to go there to have her haircut too! how coincidental!
everything was fine until we went to blk 112! omg!!! it's like haunted house larhhhhhhhh! so scary that xueting and i don't even dare to take the lift up.
so we used the stairs, but the scene was actually quite eerie. all four units on each level ALL look the same. same wooden door, same OPEN metal gates. rwarrrrrrr. we ran down after the 4th story. LOL. *screams*

btw, i saw this photo on my friend's facebook while waiting for the friends to come just now.
the princesses!! it reminds me of junxiong! and i believe he will do such faces too!! MUAHAHAHAHHHH!

i just just just finished watching this taiwan drama. likely finally because many others finished it like 2 weeks ahead of me.

heh, this drama made me teared larhh. especially the last few episodes! tear drops sia!
i realised a trend! why are all 3rd parties called 'mo li'? gong zhu xiao mei's 3rd party was also called 'mo li'! lol.
this show kinda far-fetched urhh. the eldest sister and dalang's age difference is really biggggggg! btw, i think dalang's second sister is the prettiest in this drama. woots. i like her boobs! haha. and her aura. chio! :D

this show is too drama lurhh. i don't think this kinda scenario will ever happen in real life. all the happenings are dramaaaaaaaaa. lol. and btw, i was shocked that baozhu initiated the marriage proposal. errrr, but i still think that this kinda duty is meant for a guy. haha. the wedding ceremony was quite comical in the end. lol.

i just came home from the funeral wake.
it's my second night helping there.
actually i'm not blood-related close to the deceased.
let me draw the blood-link, the deceased is:
my mum's father's younger brother.

my mum has been helping out day and night for the past 2 days and will be helping out in the 'final journey' tmr, which i'm not going because i really need to do my essay assignment and tutorials.

my closest cousin and i on our first night. this is our break time. i was scooping porridge and she was doing the red bean soup in the kitchen. both of our hands were trembling after that!!
yarh yarh yarhh. always that face. blehhh!

and the second night.

all busy and rushing with the incense paper work for the ritual tonight.

we just finished the silver ingots. now doing the gold ones.

i asked my dad if i could bring my tutorial readings down, but he said we would be very busy. in the end...

it's our first time for the 3 of us to play mahjong during a funeral wake!

the ceremony was held in teochew and we don't understand the dialect. so might as well. lol.

i only watched the last part of the "performance" and it was quite drama because even the monk cried. but of course, i couldn't understand it. but there was one part of it which i thought was quite meaningful with the help from my uncle for the translation. it's something like "it's a pity that the deceased didn't get to live up to 100 years old, but come to think of it, what's the point of living till 100 years old when your friends would have mostly passed away and there will not be any friend to send you off." hmmm, then the last poor soul would be quite poor thing..

there were a lot of arguments during the funeral wake among the deceased family members because the working hours for their business is very irregular which already made them very tired, and they do not know the traditional rituals of for the wake made them frustrated. actually i thought this would be quite a common sight, especially in the near future when our generation will know nuts about the rituals.

i'm waiting for the washing machine to be done.
my parents are tired, so i'm gonna do the laundry since i'm not going tmr.
it should beep around 1.20am? hmmm.

i read this on the February's issue of CLEO, pg. 86.
i thought that this was quite applicable to me. to think that i've been trying to find out the problem with myself, the magazine kinda solved the mystery.

Your obsession with pleasing others and getting positive feedback could be turning you into a self-doubting wreck.

Interestingly, chronic approval-seekers are often high achievers who set impossibly high standards for themselves. Manning explains that an intense need for approval can be traced back to our childhood or family experiences. "Perhaps you only felt loved when you were a 'good girl'," she suggests. Thus, you're used to thinking that acceptance is conditional upon doing the right thing or pleasing those you love.

"On the other hand, you may have a parent who tried to do everything for you - often coming from a good intention to help - giving you the message that 'nothing you do is good enough' and causing you to doubt yourself. As a result, the only time you feel good is when you openly hear praises."

Dr Anthony Grant, director of the coaching psychology unit at the University of Sydney, believes that while childhood conditioning plays a part, experiences in our adult lives can also drive us to approval-seeking behaviour. "you may have come from a very loving and nurturing family, but been put into an organisational setting where any reward or praise is highly dependent on what you do. If you stay in that system, you may begin to take on similar beliefs and values in other areas of your life."

How to end the approval-seeking cycle:

Change your self-talk - Instead of waiting for positive feedback, start giving yourself the recognition you deserve.
Go as long as you can without actively seeking out praise - This includes learning how to say "no".
Practise detachment - After all, who cares what others think?
Examine your fears - Are they realistic? For example, would your friends really abandon you if you failed to satisfy their every whim? If so, they may not be your true friends.

i kinda agree with the second point mentioned in the article. yes, my parents have done a lot of things for me since young till now, but i can never deny that they all came from good intentions. that's why till date, i can concentrate on what i want to do, and concentrate on my studies.

however, i've been controlled in many ways that i've been shaped instead of trying to figure out who i am. sometimes i get frustrated because i don't know who i am and what i want. and one of them is that my parents don't think i'm ready for a r/s. that's why i've not been attached. and probably why i think i'm philophobic because my parents have labelled me that way, also causing me to doubt my ability in coping with that.
i know it's ironic to first blame it on family experience but yet thank for it, but the thing is, i've been so reliant and dependent of these plannings that if they were to be taken away, i will lose that discipline. and come to think of it, i think i might have gone astray without those ropes tied to me. so i will not, and won't blame my parents for all they have done for me. in fact, i should thank them for part of the course of nurturing! (:

apart from family experience, i think my childhood experience in primary school might have scarred me too. they may seem small matters, but i've been bearing grudges.

primary 4 - i was the class monitress then. i caught my friends cheating during one of the class tests. i told the form teacher about it, but my friends cried 'crocodile tears' in front of the teacher and they got away with it. (okay, i still don't know if they cheated because i saw it but they claimed that they didn't, but that's not the main point.) the thing was, my position was suspended and replaced by the girl who cheated and cried. i've totally no idea and was shocked with the arrangement. she was in position for the last month of the year, and claimed the 'Monitress' service award. damn right?

primary 5 - there was once i was bullied quite badly by my friends sitting around me. they kept throwing my stationary on the floor one by one while i was picking it up one by one under my table. i got so angry that i grabbed everything and packed my bag. so happened that my form teacher was teaching and shouted at me in mandarin, "Jiayi! why are you packing your bag? want to go home already is it?" i was too shy to say what was going on and kept quiet. the 4 of them who bullied me were giggling. i don't know what got into me, but i was bending on revenge. at that point of time, i was one of the academically weakest in class because it was the 1st EM1 class of this SAP school. when the movie 'I Not Stupid' came out, i totally understood what they meant by being looked down at when you've made it into EM3. although i was in EM1, i felt like i was the EM3 there. eventually, i was transferred to EM2 in primary 6.

primary 6 - i was transferred to a half EM1 and EM2 class. however, i did outstandingly well for my prelims that i came in 6th among all the EM2s and trashed many of the EM1s. i received floods of praises and from then onwards, i told myself, when you're a tiger and don't show your power, people will think that you're a cat.

from then on, i've been a high achiever because i don't want to be bullied again.

yepp, so i think for many years, i've been waiting on praises to make my days going by boosting my morale/ego. and honestly, i spur on with praises. that's my ego when i get praises for successfully completing council projects, helping out in school duties etc. i love it when i get praises because it just means that i've made it above all, or at least somewhere up there. i'll drive myself into and up the leaderboard, like academic. in order words, i'm not embarrassed to say that this is called 'kiasu' because a high achiever can't afford to see oneself at the bottom.

so, my fear is to lose and to love. i've realised that my behaviour of fearing to lose might have lost myself some friends. maybe they think that i'm arrogant which i admit that i am sometimes. but i'm glad to share that i'm practising the first 3 steps to end the approval seeking cycle. yes, i have always tried to please others in the past. i've learnt how to say NO now. like yeah, who cares about what others think? so give me some time. i'm learning and trying to pull through the praise withdrawals.

as for love, because of the conditioning for so many years, i think i would need much more time for this acceptance.

went to plaza sing in afternoon to meet my cousin and the wushu people for a movie. omg, it's quite horrifying to watch a movie with shi hao because he shakes the chair even when the scene isn't scary! lol. anyway, nice to see them after sooooooooo long.

this men's ballet show is damn funny lor.
my mum was saying see who will be first to laugh! haha. we wanted to buy pacifier for her for fear that she will LAUGH OUT LOUD! lol.

we booked the box seats. the space is to ourselves and we were quite near the stage.
that's the performance that we were watching.
and two of the dancers. i really like the one on the left because i think he is more flexible than the rest, in terms of the split that they can do in the air. so lucky that i can take a photo with him!
and that's the swan behind me! the guy right in the middle is the artistic director!
and what a comical face at the background! lol.

the 13 of them can really dance very well. although not as flexible and graceful as female ballerinas, the bonus is the comical flavour! kudos to them!! :D

i just finished reading My Sister's Keeper this morning before heading for school.
i've watched the movie, so i can expect what's next.
i was 0-o towards the end because i thought kate was supposed to die, but it turned out the other way round~
heh, the author wrote the story in an interesting way. she wrote it from each individuals point of view. cool!

i find this part of the book quite interesting:

conversation between Campbell and Julia on pg. 275.

C: You ever think about being an animal?
J: Figuratively? Or literally?
C: Rhetorically.

.
J: A goose.
C: As in Mother? OrSilly? - haha.
C: When I asked Anna the same question, she told me she'd be a phoenix.
J: They don't really exist.
C: She said that depends on whether or not there's someone who can see them.

yeahh, which child does not want to be noticed?
in the context of this story, i think anna's mum, sara, really put way too much attention to her eldest leukemic daughter compared to her other two children. i think it was no wonder of jesse and anna to react in that manner. sara probably has to learn how to let go.

the main debate (i think urhh) of this story is whether anna should continue saving her sister by donating her organs, one of her kidneys this time round. if i were in anna's shoe, i would consider whether my kidney will ensure kate's long-term survival or not. heh, kate was supposed to die, i think, 11 years ago. instead of dragging on this pain, why not let go. since kate also wanted to give up.

this book is really not bad. unlike the other chic flick, this one keeps me thinking of, what would i do.

i just came back from town with mummy!! went shopping with her!!
no school today? yeahh! no school! i've got a longer holiday and some of my friends are jealous. haha. no more of it because i'm starting tmr! hahh.

we shopped with CK Tangs, to Wisma, to Taka, to Centrepoint, to Orchard OG, to Somerset 313. literally walked the entire orchard.
i just realised the more i shop at orchard, the much lesser time i take to comb the entire area. haha.

it was a fruitful trip, much for me. a pair of heels, 2 bags, one top and one bottom. i was contemplating between aldo or charles and keith for my heels. price difference 3 times lehh. i bought the charles and keith one eventually. let me see if i can tahan wearing that kinda heels before investing in an expensive one.
and i got cheated for one of my bags, the mango one! what i saw was $S 66 but it's actually 99 S$! crapppppppp.

the very first thing that turned me off was the super long wait for 174. i waited for 25 mins! was supposed to meet ruliets at city hall mrt station at 1.40pm, and the bus only came at 1.30pm. sure late one marh. so i cabbed down. 9BUCKS! after reaching, i realised that i could have just taken the bus since everyone else was late. there goes 2.5hrs of pool investment.

skating finally started as we got things prepared.

and off we skated for about an hour before the resurfacing started.

marcus is damn good at skating larhh. he can do backwards skate, t-brake, hockey brake that he almost became everybody's master! heh, i finally got a hang of backwards skate and t-brake. coolios!! thanks marcus! han quan and samantha were also trying to master backwards skate. han quan looks super funny when he skates because he will avoid here and there in a reckless manner, like gonna fall down anytime. laughs!

then off to the arcade because we wanna see our para para king dance like how beyonce shakes her booties. but han quan looks like he was practicing kungfu! lol.

htht on the beach.
it was superbly cold and i was pleased with myself for bringing my windbreaker which i don't really bother to bring to chalets. they htht but i knocked out after less than 30 mins? my head and heart were pounding due to the alcoholic effects, so i fell asleep listening to stories.

and i woke up with terrible headaches. HANGOVER! damn shitty. the initial pain was so damn painful that my eyes were wet lurhh. i was much thankful that i didn't eat anything at 7-eleven, though i was tempted to, for i might throw up stuffs.

then breakfast at macs!

we took shifts to sleep on the beds. so some of us went off to look for "entertainment" but nothing was open as early as 8am. "entertainment" hub not that entertaining urh! wanted to play pool but the tables are so wanted. no movies in the morning. people don't wanna bowl. so we ended up at new york new york for brunch. we must fill ourselves before we sleep!

alright, back to chalet and sleep! i'm so sorry for the noisy coughs when i sleep. but at least everyone gets an average of 2hrs sleep from my shift.

then the fire starts!

so many people bbq-ing! keke. i shall not put myself into the picture because i thought more hands make things messy. so i shall wait to be served! ahhh, that felt nice! keke. nice bbq-ing skills friends! (:

i think all the hthts made us closer, but i apologise for not joining. and the drinkings too. i don't really like to drink because my tolerance for it sucks mannn. my apologies. that's probably why i slept most of my time through the chalet. keke.

oh yes, i met zhiheng before going for the chalet. i wonder if he has grown taller from the very last time i saw him. lol. went to play pool with him. he's pro lor. ehhh, no, i'm the lousy one. lol. always give free balls! lol. and we spent one hour trying fun shots. high sense of satisfaction though the tricks might be easy. haha!

oh wells, nothing to do and i'm terribly tired, so ironically, i watched a 2.5hrs movie to entertain myself.
so many dark scenes that i couldn't see some of it clearly. but the storyline was not bad. (:
choose to die as a hero or live long as a villian. what's your choice? to become a silent guardian and a dark knight? ponders.

alright! i'm going off to chalet with ruliets tmr! (:
