it might happen, but not so soon, not in 2012.
this is really a great movie. greater than 'The Day After Tomorrow' i think. though both movies were more or less based on the same concept - The End of the World. however, instead of the scientific prediction in the day after tomorrow (i think urhh, it has been long since i last watched that movie), 2012 is related to civilisation predictions from the Mayans in the past - Mayanism. so 2012 is a portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding.this movie is very geography, associated with astrophysics. the first known evidence of the phenomenon was detected in 2009 when an american geologist Adrian travelled to India to visit his friend, Satnam, who found out something called solar flare whereby the sun would emit neutrinos that would cause the temperature of the Earth's core to rise rapidly. Adrian immediately brought this to attention at the White House, whereby the people there started a secret plan to ensure continuity of human life. however, sadly, only 400,000 people could be saved on gigantic ships like those in starwars, called 'Arks', if the major global phenomenon was to happen. but 1 billion euros per ticket lehhhhhhhhh! crazy.. anyway, sociology! people who have the power, rich and privileged get to survive over those who were poor! this is not fair! not fair!!
in 2012, San Francisco started experiencing earthquakes after earthquakes. no later, the extinct continental hotspot volcano, Wyoming, at Yellowstone National Park, had a massive eruption. Jackson and his family, and Gordon managed to survive the volcanic eruption and the chaos of earthquakes and floods in North American via a jet plane which Jackson had loaned. luckily Gordon is an amateur pilot! the western states of North America soon collapsed into the Pacific Ocean when the Earth's crust displacement began.
they landed at Las Vegas, hoping to change for a bigger jet such that they can fly towards the Himalayans to board the 'Arks'. thankfully, they met Jackson's employer, Yuri, who is a Russian billionaire and has a pilot, Sasha, with him. due to lack of fuel, the lot of them were supposed to land at Hawaii, but volcanic island arcs and hotspots (i think urhh, they didn't mention) were actively erupting. i think no one on the Hawaiian Island survived unless they have flown to the Himalayans. too bad, the plane had to crash land somewhere in Tibet after some engine failures, which killed Sasha.
as Gordon, Tamara (Yuri's girlfriend) and the Jackson's family did not posses the tickets to the 'Arks', the Tibetians didn't allow them on the helicopters that were flying towards the 'Arks'!! ehhhhhhhhhhhhh. crapp lor. lives lehh. i thought it was idiotic that the Tibetians didn't save them. but again, very luckily, they met Nima, a buddhist monk, and his brother, Tenzin, who works as a welder for the ark project. they sneaked into one of the 'Arks' through the hydraulic chamber. Tamara pointed a middle finger at Yuri for abandoning her and the others at the helicopters. nice one mannnnn! *the audience clapped!* however, due to some accidents, they lost Gordon and Tamara in the hydraulic chamber. btw, Yuri died too. he tossed his son onto the 'Ark' with all his might and fell off the boarding platform.
at the same time, the 'rich and important people' on board of the 'Ark' were having a dispute over the permission to grant the 400,000 people on board as all of them would face a megatsunami coming from India in 28 minutes. the information came from Satnam, who died with his family after informing Adrian about this. Adrian was for opening the gates to them, while Anheuser, the acting Commander-in-Chief because the US president chose to stay (i respect the US president for staying back to account for the situation, though he could have done so earlier) and died in the megatsunami when USS John F. Kennedy crashed into the White House, was against opening the gate for the sake of the lives of the important people on board. I WOULD OPEN THE GATES! and i AGREE with Adrian that people like Satnam would have died in vain if they do not rescue the 400,000 people when he has given them the catastrophic information beforehand.
the engine of the 'Ark' couldn't start because of the accident in the hydraulic chamber that caused the drill to jam up one of the gates. the megatsunami hit the 'Arks' (there were 3 of them). however, the main one was floating helplessly because the engine couldn't start. Jackson and his son, Noah, helped to free the drill and cable such that the gate closed in time which prevented the fatal collision of the 'Ark' with Mount Everest.
worldwide tsunamis receded after don't know how many hours. satellite images showed that the Drakensberg mountains in Africa became the highest point on Earth. it is somewhere at the Cape of Good Hope, and for some reasons, that was why it's called GOOD HOPE. everything changed. there was a new calendar that started with year 0001, which i suppose depicts a new age of the Earth.
i'm still figuring how the Drakensberg mountains become the highest point on Earth. i conjecture that the South American plate converged into the African plate since both are continental plates and there's no oceanic plates in between that caused the continental uplift like how the Himalayans were created. this is only my guess, since both are continental plates, thus, the volcanic reactions would be surpressed, hence, save for the survivors to alight there. i'm still thinking why would the Eastern side of North American and Europe experience the tsunamis. unless the divergence at the Atlantic Ocean was that great? actually, i suspected that there was a geomagnetic reversal of the Earth's polarity, but after reading up a little, it was pole shift hypothesis. according to the movie, North America was the new North Pole because of the crustal shift. so in the end, the world map changed. the second Gondwanaland and Laurasia? hmmm.
all those words in bold are more or less geographic terms for easy reading. keke.
oh yes, thank you Wei Sheng for accompanying me for the movie!! (:

eye-popping.
Scariest movie of the year - No.Most frightening ghost story of 2007 - There's no ghost.
Most terrifying movie of the year - No.
Okay, it was frightening, but not a ghost story. and it was the last 5 minutes or so that was frightening. you won't scream, but most probably just go stunned and omg, what the toot. because the 'demon' was kinda overboard. and also the daytime one because that was unexpected. aye, when the movie showed scenes after 11pm, the two ladies beside me, and including myself, automatically covered our mouths. just afraid that we might shriek. muahahaahhhh. not scary larhh, just a reflex action to keep myself shut. lols.
oh yes, the lot of us nearly cmi for the movie. the ticketer gave us the tickets for the wrong timing larhh! luckily we can exchange the tickets for a later timing. rawrrr. so we spent time at the arcade. jessica is god-like mannn. her basketball skills is better than the basketball captain in ijc. jun xiong should meet jessica larhh. i think he'd be amazed. haha.
~chip and dale are back! :D

because you were there for me.

i was emo when i got out of bed in the afternoon today. i slept for almost 12hrs to recover from sleep debt. i thought i would feel great, but something just kinda disappointed me. mug and mug for the whole day, and was agitated that i spent 2 whole days on chinese, when i'm supposed to do my gem today.
but i just had a great chat on msn with my sugarcandy that changed the night. though we had a short phone call before that. haha. you know just how i can share anything under the sun with her, just like how she can do that to me. some times, we don't even have to say it, the other can guess it. right sugarcandy! our telepathy usually works! :D thus, anything unhappy will turn happy to make our nights the best that we can! ((:
this also applies to those whom i've been sharing my thoughts and feelings with on msn/phone too! special mentions, jacinda my dada (3hrs 20mins of conversation a week back!) and joyce my darling! :D

day off with mummy! ((:
i'm finally freeddddddddddddddddddddd from assignments!! yaayyyyyy!!
i just watched this movie, which was shown during my gem lecture. cool urhh! haha.
this movie is terribly long that it required 2 lectures. 3hrs 15mins!! but some parts were quite long-winded, so i slept through them. keke.
Overview from Yahoo: An 18th century clock maker named Jon Harrison (Gambon) begins what is to become a forty-year task to invent a system for determining longitude at sea with a nautical timepiece. Meanwhile, 200 years in the future, naval officer Rupert Gould (Irons) discovers Harrison's neglected chronometers and sets out to restore them.
if you're interested in finding out the creation of an accurate clock, then you should catch this movie! :D
went to meet mummy after school!
today is ladies day out!!
and we really had hell lotta fun!! :D:D
first was lunch!!
then was kbox! woohoooooooooo. to sing is to de-stress!! and to forget about unhappy things!! :DD
and singing with my mum allowed me to try the oldies! keke.
and right after was movie!!
my mum has been eyeing on this movie, My Girlfriend is an Agent!!
lol. i want to be a spoiler!! this movie is damn damn hilarious. there was one part that i couldn't stop laughing that my mum whacked me!! LOLs.
heh, this movie can be titled "My Boyfriend is an Agent" too because both of them were keeping from each other that they are secret agents (undercovers) who happen to work for different government sectors. so there were many clashes when two different teams work on the same case because they ended up suspecting each other. damn funny!!!
last but not least was late night shopping at wisma!
although we didn't buy anything, but today was really a contented day!! daddy came to pick us up after that!! :DDD
i won't ask for more than a carefree day like today. but what mattered most was my mum who enjoyed herself!! :DD

This Is It!

went to catch this movie with jessica, kevin and gregory after school today.
i'm not a great big fan like greg of michael jackson, but since i listen to his songs when i was young, i wanted to see what i can expect from the movie.
the movie was much of the preparatory works of his upcoming concert in London this year. heh, looking at the way he rehearsed, it was no wonder that he died larhh. he's 50 and singing and dancing to so many songs a day would be very much a torture!
nevertheless, i still enojoyed the movie. it might be better if there were lyrics to go with so that the audience can sing along too, with the exception of greg! he recited the songs + the effects while watching! i thought a bit more and he would have stood up and dance. keke.
kh came to join us for dinner at the mussel guy after the movie. he looked super tired after rushing his SEA assignment! but at least it is over!
looking forward to the night safari outing tmr!! :D
